Maintaining a general level of fitness means
that you are in good enough condition to get out
of bed every day; to do your daily activities;
to play
a sport such as golf or bowling without injury;
and to be in general good health.
General fitness helps prevent cardiovascular
disease and other illnesses. Most people should
participate in physical activities at least
three times per week. Those activities should
include a full body workout involving
cardiovascular conditioning along with
exercising major muscle groups (legs, back,
chest, stomach, arms, and shoulders). |
