Kidz-in-motion classes:
Kidz-in-motion is a program
that teaches kids age-appropriate cardiovascular
training, basic functional training skills,
agility, balance, and core strength in order to
help keep them healthy and minimize injuries.
|
Children as young as 15
months may participate in age appropriate Kidz-in-motion
programs. Class lengths are adjusted based on
the children's age. As children grow and age,
they can continue to participate in programs
that grow with them. Many of the children we
work with become athletes and choose to
participate in our |

sports specific programs which are designed to address
their individual needs. |
In addition, CBC also
conducts classes for
special needs children.
The heart and soul of the
Kidz-in-motion
program is to combat childhood obesity
by participating in an appropriate exercise program
that keeps them physically active in
a fun and safe environment. Teaching children
healthy behaviors at a young age is crucial in
the prevention of childhood obesity. According to the American
Academy of Pediatrics, obese children with
decreasing levels of self-esteem demonstrate
significantly higher rates of sadness,
loneliness, nervousness, and are more likely to
engage in high risk behaviors such as smoking,
or consuming alcohol.
Benefits Of Regular Physical
Activity for Children:
Helps
build and maintain bones and muscle
Helps
reduce the risk of health issues later in life
Helps
build self esteem and confidence
