Customer Testimonial:
How I lost 70 pounds ( at last check) and how
CBC Fitness & Wellness Center has played a big
role.
Monday June 18, 2007 6:45AM the scale says
296.5. I keep expecting to see a slip of paper
come out the side that says" One person at the
time Please". I guess it is time to visit
CBC next door to work and see if I can lose some
of this weight. Everyone from the office that
has joined has great things to say about it.
12:05PM I met Armand Chery
the owner. Armand shows me around describes the
equipment and his philosophy on weight loss and
exercise. I agree to join and tell him I will be
back for my first visit on Wednesday with my
"Gym" clothes.
6:30PM – Tell my wife I have
joined the gym and we plan out a diet routine
for the upcoming months. Having done this “diet
thing” many times in my adult life, we agree on
a Weight Watchers style program, of limited
calories ( I am going for about 1200 per day )
with a balanced mix of protein, fruit and
vegetables. We will be using mostly frozen
Dinners from “Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers” and
other similar sources; this keeps the calorie
content easily measurable as well as providing
“portion control: I also plan on oatmeal in the
morning and 2 servings of fruit in the evening
during TV watching time.

Noon – CBC Fitness and Wellness Center - Armand
shows me the changing/shower rooms, I get
changed and he suggest I loosen up for a while
on the stationary bicycle. After a few minutes
of this Armand brings out a chart that lists the
different pieces of equipment that are available
within the CBC Center. He walks thru each of the
selections that he has chosen for me, showing me
the correct body position, seat height and other
adjustments as appropriate. Armand also suggests
a starting weight for each exercise and also
suggests 2 sets of 15 reps. I complete my first
workout and drag myself back to my office next
door.
This becomes a regular
routine for me…I keep on with the oatmeal,
frozen dinners and fruit snacks and 3 times a
week I walk from my office to CBC and complete
my workout routine. The general workout hasn’t
changed much from the early days a few months
ago. However today I do 6 miles on the
stationary bike at my target heart rate for some
cardio benefit. I do 2 cycles of the machine
stations that Armand and I agreed upon. I have
“tweaked” this routine over time, adding and
dropping a station or 2 until I have a workout
that fits me. My “weights” on each machine are
up dramatically and there are muscles in places
that used to be just fat. Armand has been very
supportive during this time and he recently told
me that If/When I hit a plateau, as is so common
on diets, that he was ready with a change to my
workout that would get my body losing weight
again.
The following is my
progress in terms of weight lost:
as of 7/9/2007 -18.5 lbs
as of 7/23/2007 - 24.5 lbs
as of 9/3/2007 - 39.5 lbs
as of
9/24/2007 - 47.5
as of
10/15/2007 - 54 lbs
as of
10/22/2007 - 59 lbs
as of
12/04/07 - 70 lbs
I can’t say enough how much
positive benefit I have seen from this program.
I still have much more weight to lose, but I
have found a recipe that works for me. I still
watch my portion control closely, I miss the
days I don’t get to the gym and I now find that
the first 3 miles on the bike are not even
causing me to breathe hard. I used to pant
walking up a flight of stairs. I used to have a
lot of pain in my right knee. I told this to
Armand on my first visit and he put me on an
exercise or 2 to strengthen the muscles and
eliminate that problem. I bowl 10 Pin Bowling on
3 leagues a week and carry an average that will
let me get my PBA card if I wish. With all the
extra weight and my knee problems, I know that
would not have happened. I know I can credit
much of this success to the weight loss and the
good counsel from and hard work at CBC.
